Uncover the Secret Lives of Snakes. Live streaming cameras look at rattlesnakes.

If you haven’t found this website yet, it’s now time to explore it with your friends and family. Dr Emily Taylor,Professor, California Polytechnic State University. Scott Boback, Associate Professor of Biology at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Owen Bachhuber, Graduate Student, California Polytechnic State University. And,  Max Roberts, a Graduate Student at California Polytechnic State University, has set up a live streaming camera on a Prairie Rattlesnake rookery (MegaDen) at an undisclosed location in Colorado. At this rookery, hundreds of snakes overwinter, shed their skins, and bask in the sun. Dozens of pregnant snakes spend the summer here preparing to give birth and care for their babies. If you are watching and the stream stops, it will begin again soon. A second camera monitors  Western Rattlesnake rookery at an undisclosed location along the Central Coast of California. At this rookery, several pregnant female snakes shed their skins, bask in the sun, and prepare to give birth and care for their babies. The livestream runs 7am – 8pm PT each day from July through October.  The URL for both cams is https://rattlecam.org/
